final project

I decided to paint my favorite place in the world which is the beach. I drew it as if it was during the night time. the beach is a place that you can just relax and detach yourself from the crazy and busy life that you live.

loser/hero

my loser hero painting is based on heartbreak, and how heartbreak can change someone for the better or just make them worse.  For the loser, heartbreak can cause you to be lazy and antisocial so I drew a couch and a refrigerator, and sleeping signs. For my hero I drew what I wanted to become when i get older in between the broken heart which is a teacher. thats a blackboard welcoming the children.

NY Painting

I based this drawing on the drawing given to us in class to interpret. The drawing that was given to me had a tree a bench, and on the other half of the drawing it had very long sticks and some sort of ladder, so I decided to draw something that someone will normally see in central park, which are trees, benches, garbages, subway and of course the NYC skyline buildings in the background.

still life

This Still Life painting I know is different then the others from class, but since I was not present in class the day this was assigned I decided to paint a still life object that I had in my house. I chose to draw a candle set that I have on top of my table, the colors I used were green and red.

Pointillist painting

For this assignment I chose to paint a part of my room, this part is actually my favorite part of my room because of the quote that I have on top of the mirror which says "live, love, laugh". I chose these colors because they are the actual colors of my room, and this type of technique I found messier to handle than just dragging the brush as usual.

egg painting

I chose to paint three eggs in a bowl by itself without any other object around them because I think it would take away attention from the eggs, and the whole point of this project was to view the eggs and how it was painted.

911 show

The two shows that I attended in La Guardia College and Moma Ps.1, both explained the tragic moment on 911, each show had paintings that expressed the people who did not survive, had collages of the victims faces and names. The LaGuardia show had a huge garbage bag pinned up to symbolize the dust and building parts on ground zero. These paintings were a reminder that no one will forget the victims and the people that they lost, the paintings was a way to view this tragic day in a positive way through art.
